Overview

The facilities of the Portugal Surf Camp are located in and around Ericeira, a former small fishing village thirty kilometres north of Lisbon. Ericeira is known world-wide for its surf breaks and good waves.

The proximity to Lisbon makes it very interesting for people who like to surf perfect waves during the day and want to party at night.

The village has a long surfing tradition and every keen surfer, whether beginner or pro, will find epic waves here.

If the ocean is calm, then other activities such as yoga and pilates classes, scuba diving, fishing, snorkeling, tennis, horseback riding, cycling, kayaking and the new skate park will fill your time or you can chill by the pool or wander into town to the bars and shops.

Ericeira is a fantastic party location with several nice bars and two discotheques, of whom one the oldest of Portugal is.

Apart from surfing and lots of beach life, the closer environment of Ericeira has more interesting things and activities to offer. Old castles and churches are in the near surroundings, as well as golf courses and free climbing facilities.

Lisbon can be reached by car in about three quarters of an hour. The city is famous for its culture and notorious nightlife. Partying in Lisbon is a once in a lifetime experience! The Portuguese are quite mellow during daytime, but they turn out to be party animals during the night.

Due to its geographical position, Ericeira is blessed with some seriously sweet swells throughout most of the year. There are all-together around 20 known spots, but the whole coast is teaming with unknown spots begging to be found.

Accommodation

The Surf Villa:

The Surf Villa is located about 5 minutes’ drive from the São Julião Beach, where most surfing sessions are held. The Surf Villa looks like a mansion, located on a remote hill top with great valley views. It’s a beautiful house with lots of space for parking and a huge swimming pool. It’s a great place to chill and enjoy the sun. All accommodation in the Surf Villa is in rooms with shared facilities. You will sleep in rooms for 2, 3 or 4 people per room, and maximum 14 people in the Villa. To while away your time besides surfing, we offer you WLAN (bring your own laptop), TV, magazines and plenty of videos. Breakfast will be served every day.

The Surf Camp:

The area covers an area of 5000 square meters with ten individually furnished houses. The facility with refurbished houses from 15th to the 19th century also comprises a restaurant with bar, which is open six days a week. It is all surrounded by beautiful garden, where you can feel the love to detail and the element water in every corner. The garden area comprises a bigger and a smaller swimming pool, an open chill house with cooking facilities and a BBQ area; that is the starting point for relaxed BBQ evenings. You will stay in houses with 2 – 6 people; all them are differently and uniquely furnished. Every single house has its own bathroom/toilet and kitchen or kitchenette. You therefore have the choice of either cooking for yourselves or to join in at our restaurant.

Surf & Other Activities

Surfing

Portugal, in Southern Europe, shares the Iberian Peninsula at the western tip of Europe with Spain. It picks up north, west and south swells, resulting in very regular surf. Very mild climate with plenty of consistent surf and variety of breaks make Portugal the ideal location for Europeans to escape the colder northern winters. It is an excellent place to learn to surf with lots of places offering easy point-breaks and beautiful beachbreaks often sheltered from the wind by tall surrounding cliffs. It’s a real all year round European surf destination.

The Surf Villa:

Surf Lesson Package

This package is made especially for beginners and intermediate levels. You are considered a beginner, if you have never tried the sport of surfing before. You are considered intermediate, if you have had surf lessons before, you want to refresh what they taught and now you want to push your personal level.

The surfing instructors will teach you 4 hours per day, at a surf spot suitable for your skill level. The theory lessons and video analyses are included in the sessions and will be held in the base. Our surf instructors are all qualified and licensed by the BSA (at least level1) or an equivalent license. These licenses include a lifeguard and didactics degree.

The price includes:

Bed & Breakfast Package

This package is for advanced surfers who are experienced and like to explore all the breaks on their own…or for those who just want to have relaxed holidays.

Camp Apartments: The apartments have more space and are more comfortable with a private kitchen. Suitable for a minimum of 4 persons. The price includes breakfast and you combine it with all surf activities.

Beachtranfer

Please note that we charge for the beach transfer € 7 per day and person (both ways), if required. The beach transfer is limited to a maximal amount of people per week due to logistical reasons.
